Sunday night's Dum Dum Girls / Girls bill at the Pabst was not only a surprisingly solid bill for a Sunday night Milwaukee show, but also one of those instances where I looked forward to the opener more than the headliner. The Dum Dum Girls put on a good, tight set. They walked out on stage (house lights still up), picked up their instruments, did a quick sound check, and just ripped into the set. They had sparse banter (a few thank you's) and seemed to concentrate on playing songs, which was fine by me. When they were done, they said thanks and walked off. No fake encore, which is always appreciated. The only downside to the show was the jackasses in the audience who decided to just make cat calls. Way to represent Milwaukee, guys. Show: B+, Crowd: D (saved from a D- by the psuedo Flock of Seagulls haircut to rows in front of me)
